'Healing Eve' for girls to pilot in January 2021

Updated: Oct 31, 2020

The Eve Project will host the 7-week programme for girls in January 2021. After boasting the success of its "Healing Eve Programme for Women in August 2020, the demand for another pilot programme has been immense.

The need for safe spaces for women girls is a must. Whilst women and girls are more likely to share issues and problems with others, there is still a huge gap in counselling and pastoral provision. Young women in particular, still find it very difficult to share their innermost feelings, for fear of being ridiculed, laughed at or their problems being minimised.

Whilst digital technology has been a blessing for the UK and the rest of the world, it also comes with a set of significant challenges. A number of studies have shown that young females are more likely to compare themselves to other women or young girls, in terms of lifestyle, aspirations and body image. With this comes the risk of developing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and low mood.

Do you have a design in mind for your blog? Whether you prefer a trendy postcard look or you’re going for a more editorial style blog - there’s a stunning layout for everyone.

We are experiencing a point in time, where young women and girls are struggling to accept themselves, warts n' all! Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok all do a great job of spreading information and allowing cultures to experience each other, however, we cannot discount the significant harm it can also do.

Knowing your worth

As a Therapist, I recognise the importance of a solid foundation. A child's early years are hugely significant to ensuring the healthy development of their self concept, self worth, and self esteem. Knowing who you are, your worth and how significant you are to others is particularly important during these crucial months. When children do not experience strong supportive and loving relationships, this will often lead to poor boundary setting, fragile relationships and the seeking of validation from others. However, what is important for us here at The Eve Project, is that girls and young women recognise how precious they are as well as their significant contribution to the worldwide community as a whole.
